My Opinion on AI-Manufactured Website

AI has changed the web design industry in a big way, and I want to be clear: I am not against AI. In fact, I use AI myself as a tool to help with ideas, content, layouts, and parts of the design process. When used correctly, AI can be helpful. But there is a big difference between using AI as a professional tool and selling quick, low-cost, AI-manufactured websites that are rushed together and handed off with little to no support.
Today, you see people advertising websites for $149 or other very low prices, sometimes promising a complete website in 24 hours. That may sound like a great deal, especially for a small business trying to save money, but the real question is: what are you actually getting? Do you own the website? Do you own the domain name? Is the site properly connected to Google, Bing, and other search engines? Is there any real SEO work being done? Are the pages built with the right keywords, descriptions, image names, page titles, and structure? Will customers actually be able to find your business online? Many people do not find out the answers until it is too late.

A website is more than just a design. A good website needs proper search engine optimization, clean structure, mobile-friendly design, strong content, keyword planning, image optimization, backend setup, and a clear strategy. Yes, AI can create something that looks nice, but looking nice does not mean the website will perform. If your website cannot be found online, does not load properly, does not explain your business clearly, or does not help turn visitors into customers, then it is not doing its job.
When you hire a real web developer, you are not just paying for a website. You are paying for knowledge, experience, planning, problem-solving, communication, and long-term support. A professional website takes time to build the right way. Even when I use AI to help with certain parts of a project, I still spend time reviewing the design, improving the content, working on SEO, setting up the backend, adjusting the layout, checking mobile responsiveness, and making sure the website is built around the customer’s business goals. Even a small website can take weeks to complete properly.
At TLF Web Studio, I focus on helping small businesses, local businesses, and mom-and-pop shops in the community. I am not trying to serve large corporations or build massive enterprise websites. My goal is to provide fair, honest, professional web design for business owners who need someone they can trust. Many of the businesses
I work with need a website that looks good, explains what they do, helps customers find them, and gives them a real online presence without being taken advantage of.
One of the biggest problems with cheap AI-built websites is the lack of personal service after the sale. Someone may build the site, take your money, and disappear. Then what happens when you need something changed? What happens when the site breaks? What happens when you do not know how to update it? What happens when nobody answers your emails, phone calls, or text messages? Now you may have a website design, but no real support, no clear ownership, no SEO strategy, and no idea what to do next.

That is why business owners need to be careful. Before buying a low-cost website online, ask questions. Find out who owns the domain. Find out who owns the website. Ask what platform it is built on. Ask if SEO is included. Ask if the images are optimized. Ask if Google Business, Google Search Console, or analytics are being set up. Ask what kind of support you receive after the site is finished. A cheap website can become expensive fast if it does not work, cannot be found, or has to be rebuilt later.
I have been working in this field for many years, and I take web design seriously. I have a background in IT, software engineering, project management, and business management, and I understand that a website is not just a digital brochure. It is a business tool. It should represent your company professionally, help customers understand what you offer, and support the growth of your business.
My opinion is simple: AI can be a useful tool, but it should not replace experience, honesty, and real web development knowledge. A professional website should be built with care, strategy, SEO, and support behind it. When you hire the right web developer, you are hiring someone who will take the time to understand your business, build the site correctly, and be there when you need help.
At TLF Web Studio, I want my clients to know who they are working with. I want them to be able to contact me personally, ask questions, get support, and feel confident that their website was built with their best interest in mind. A cheap AI website may look appealing at first, but a properly built website gives your business a much better foundation for the future.
